AfCCoDR in collaboration with UNCITRAL
Africa Centre for Collaborative Dispute Resolution – AfCCoDR
AfCCoDR is a leading Pan-African institution advancing Alternative Dispute Resolution across the continent. With the mission “Bringing Peace to Every Home in Africa”, the Centre focuses on training, research, advocacy, and institutional development for mediation and arbitration.
AfCCoDR partners with governments, legal bodies, academia, and international organizations to build ADR capacity, improve access to justice, and reduce the cost and time of resolving disputes. Through conferences, certification programs, and policy dialogue, AfCCoDR is positioning Africa as a credible hub for global ADR practice.
United Nations Commission on International Trade Law – UNCITRAL
UNCITRAL is the core legal body of the United Nations system in the field of international trade law. For over 50 years, UNCITRAL has developed modern, fair, and harmonized rules on commercial transactions to support global trade and economic development.
Its texts include the UNCITRAL Model Law on International Commercial Arbitration, UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules, and UNCITRAL Mediation Rules. These standards are used worldwide by states, courts, businesses, and arbitral institutions to resolve cross-border disputes. UNCITRAL’s work is especially relevant for Africa as intra-continental trade under AfCFTA expands and the need for trusted dispute resolution grows.
In Partnership
AfCCoDR and UNCITRAL are collaborating on UNCITRAL Day in Africa 2026 to bridge global standards with African realities. Together, they are building awareness of UNCITRAL frameworks, strengthening ADR institutions in Africa, and equipping practitioners to handle trade disputes under AfCFTA with confidence and credibility.
